Payment of consignments

For the payment of consignments, we prefer using direct deposit payments, Paypal, or cash. Also, we do not send money until the amount (the one entered in the email and the statement) as well as the preferred type of payment is confirmed by the person in charge of the deposit in order to avoid the rare , but possible errors where we should later claim money.

Also thank you for your patience, we have over 300 people to pay and it may take a while to process everything.

Taxes

Some rare consignees among you charge provincial and federal taxes. In order to pay you, we will need an invoice issued by you with taxes for our accounting.

Payment by Paypal

You just have to confirm the email address where you want the payment to be sent.

This is the only type of payment we use for consignees outside of Canada.

Payment by direct deposit

We absolutely need a check specimen from a Canadian institution. If we have already made a direct deposit, just let us know, we don’t need it again. We will also need an email to send the payment confirmation (we usually take the communication email unless otherwise specified).

To give you an idea of why an international direct deposit is not an option for us: an IBAN transfer costs $15 from Canada to France, it costs $50 for a transfer to Morocco.

Cash payment

We prefer not to favor this method of payment for accounting (and historical) monitoring issues. If you go to a bookstore, it is however possible to be paid in cash (a receipt will be given to you).

Checks

Checks and stamps cost us far too much to be sent for small amounts. Therefore, for financial and practical reasons, we do not send checks for consignments.

Payment of old statements never claimed

We keep track of all payments that have not been made. We usually check before making a new payment to see if an amount has never been claimed and add it to the new amount. We usually specify in the email confirming the payment all paid statements.
